Delete Your Syncrofin Account
This page explains how to delete your Syncrofin account and what happens to your data when you do.
How to delete your account
From within the app
- Open Syncrofin
- Go to More → Profile
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm, and enter your password when prompted
Your account and data are deleted immediately, and you are signed out.
If you cannot access the app
If you have uninstalled Syncrofin, lost access to your account, or cannot sign in, email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We will verify your identity and delete your account and data. We aim to action verified requests within 30 days.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your account and login details
- All records you created — transactions, budgets, bills, subscriptions, loans, investments, deposits, insurance policies, receivables, payables, savings goals, and trade journal entries
- Your display name and profile information
What is retained, and why
Shared group expenses are not deleted. If you have split expenses with other people in a group, those expense records remain in the group so that the other members' balances stay correct. Your name is replaced with "Former member", and your email and any link to your identity are removed.
This is necessary because a group expense is a shared record. Deleting your share of a shared expense would silently make the other members' balances wrong. Only your personal identifying information is removed from those records.
Data required by law. We may retain certain records for as long as the law requires (for example, records needed for tax or legal compliance). Crash and error diagnostics are retained for up to 90 days.
Important notes
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Please export or note anything you wish to keep before deleting.
- If you own a group with other members, you may need to transfer ownership or remove the other members before your account can be deleted. The app will guide you if this applies.
